- The humpback, which freed itself Friday, reached deeper water in the Bay of Lübeck.
- It had been trapped on a sandbank since the night of Sunday to Monday, March 22–23.
- Marine biologist Robert Marc Lehmann said on Instagram that it regained strength overnight and covered the last ten meters on its own.
- He said the whale is extremely sick, so teams are only creating human and boat barriers to steer it away from the coast.
- He added that a true rescue will be when the animal reaches its Atlantic habitat, which lies far beyond the Baltic.
