Hoy No Circula Operated Normally on Saturday as Air Quality Stayed Acceptable

Officials said they are monitoring air quality hourly and may trigger expanded restrictions if pollution increases.

Overview

  • On Saturday, June 6, the first‑Saturday Hoy No Circula scheme applied: vehicles with hologram 1 and odd plate endings (1, 3, 5, 7, 9), all hologram 2 cars, and foráneas were restricted because no contingency was active.
  • Earlier in the week the program ran under its usual weekday rules with green‑engomado (plates ending 1 and 2) restricted on Thursday and blue‑engomado (plates ending 9 and 0) restricted on Friday.
  • Vehicles exempt from restrictions include cars with holograms 0 and 00 (electric and hybrid), public transport, emergency vehicles, motorcycles, and cars with disability plates, plus certain special permits and autorregulación constancias.
  • Enforcement remains in force across CDMX and conurbated Edomex municipalities with fines of 20–30 UMA (about 2,346–3,519 MXN) and possible vehicle towing for violations.
  • The Dirección de Monitoreo Atmosférico and Sedema publish hourly air‑quality readings for the Valley of Mexico and reserve the right to re‑activate a contingency or a Doble Hoy No Circula if pollution indicators worsen.
