Overview
- A certified CURP shows the legend “CURP Certificada: verificada con el Registro Civil” in the lower-right corner of the document downloaded from the official portal.
- You can obtain the document at consultas.curp.gob.mx by entering your key or using the personal data search, then downloading and printing it at no cost.
- Certification is automatic when your data matches the National Civil Registry platform; if it is not certified, verify your details in Renapo, compare them with your birth certificate, and request an administrative correction at a CURP module if discrepancies exist.
- The certified format includes the Interior Ministry logo, a folio, QR codes, correction and certification keys, and a data protection notice.
- The 18-character CURP encodes name elements, birth date, sex (H or M), state code or NE for foreigners, a character tied to birth year, and a final check digit to reduce duplicates.
