House Sets Up Vote on Graham Russia Sanctions Bill as Rules Committee Prepares Debate

Overview

  • The House Rules Committee scheduled consideration for Monday, Sept. 14, which would clear the way for a full House vote later that week if the committee approves the terms of debate.
  • The Senate approved the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act by an 86-11 vote in August, and House leaders have moved to bring the package to the floor this month.
  • The bill would allow the president to impose tariffs of up to 100% on the five largest importers of Russian crude and natural gas and on countries aiding Russia’s sanctions evasion.
