Overview
- UAE exports climbed to about 4.3 million barrels per day in early June by routing crude through the Habshan–Fujairah pipeline and using the Mandous storage complex, according to the IEA.
- U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said shipments through the Strait of Hormuz were nearing pre-war levels, with roughly 20 million barrels reported to have exited the strait in a single 24‑hour period.
- Oman and the International Maritime Organization set up temporary coastal corridors that some tankers used to leave the Persian Gulf, clearing part of a backlog of more than 1,000 vessels.
- Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps publicly warned on June 25 that ships must use Tehran‑authorised routes and said vessels that do not comply ‘will be dealt with,’ raising the prospect of future enforcement or fees.
- Analysts and agencies caution that demining, remaining physical threats, elevated insurance costs and vessel backlog mean full and sustained normalization could take weeks to months and will depend on diplomatic talks.
