Honda Recalls 880,514 Pilots, Ridgelines, Passports and Acura MDXs Over Rear-Subframe Corrosion

Owners can check VINs on NHTSA.gov immediately with mailed recall notices scheduled for July 7, 2026.

Overview

  • The recall covers specific model years of Honda Pilot, Ridgeline, Passport and Acura MDX vehicles sold in a defined group of U.S. states and the District of Columbia, totaling 880,514 cars.
  • Honda says corrosion at rear subframe suspension mounting points can weaken or crack the metal and cause rear suspension failure that may lead to wheel misalignment, reduced handling and increased crash risk.
  • Dealers will inspect affected rear subframes and either install a reinforcement kit or repair or replace rear subframe components at no cost to owners.
  • Honda estimates about 1% of the listed vehicles have the defect, reports no warranty claims or injuries so far, and NHTSA assigned the campaign number 26V367000 with VINs searchable online beginning June 10.
  • The recall follows earlier Honda corrosion recalls focused on rear subframe and mounting failures in salt-belt states, a pattern that prompted long-term testing and the current nationwide remedy effort.
