Honda Launches E‑Clutch CB750 Hornet and XL750 Transalp in India

Designed to remove the need to pull the clutch lever during starts, stops and shifts, the system keeps manual clutch control to reduce rider effort.

Overview

  • Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India launched the CB750 Hornet E‑Clutch and XL750 Transalp E‑Clutch and opened bookings through BigWing and Topline dealers on Friday.
  • The E‑Clutch uses an electronic actuator to operate the clutch automatically during starts, stops and gear changes while preserving the physical clutch lever for manual use.
  • Both 755cc models carry new ex‑showroom Gurugram prices — CB750 Hornet at ₹10.49 lakh and XL750 Transalp at ₹13.20 lakh — reflecting roughly ₹1.27–1.39 lakh premiums over previous listings.
  • The E‑Clutch hardware adds about 3 kg to kerb weight and otherwise the Hornet and Transalp remain mechanically and spec‑identical to the outgoing versions.
  • Honda also refreshed the Gold Wing with a new colour and reinstated the CBR1000RR‑R Fireblade SP in its India range, continuing a phased rollout of E‑Clutch that began with the NX500 after its EICMA reveal.
