Home Depot Launches App-Controlled 12-Foot Skelly

The retailer has moved its viral skeleton into an app-driven animatronic to deepen its tech-led Halloween lineup.

Overview

  • Home Depot put its 2026 Halloween collection live online on July 16, 2026, including a new app-controlled 12-foot Skelly that joins roughly 30 new decorations.
  • The app-enabled Skelly uses servo-driven head and jaw motion, supports real-time Bluetooth voice interaction with built-in voice effects, and can store up to 30 recorded sounds.
  • Skelly’s Decor Pro app also lets owners pick from 20 LCD LifeEyes effects and customize movement and audio settings, making the figure fully controllable from a phone.
  • The app-controlled 12-foot Skelly is listed online at $379 while a non-app 12-foot Skelly remains available for $299, with select items arriving in stores later this summer.
  • Home Depot broadened its giant-animatronic lineup with new pieces such as an 11-foot mummy, an 8-foot zombie velociraptor and interactive smaller figures, a strategy that typically drives fast sellouts and high fan demand.
