Overview
- Cabin crew discovered a handwritten note reading “Don't go. Bomb Hai! Please” in the forward lavatory of IndiGo flight 6E-6423 before takeoff on Thursday evening.
- Airport security formed a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee and conducted a full search of the aircraft that found no explosive or suspicious object and declared the note a hoax.
- All passengers were deplaned and the Ahmedabad-bound flight was delayed for more than five hours before it departed in the early hours of July 17.
- IndiGo filed a formal complaint and KIAL airport police registered an FIR while investigators are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to trace who left the note.
- Authorities say the incident follows a similar June lavatory hoax on an IndiGo flight, and officials warn such false threats divert security resources, disrupt operations and carry legal penalties.
