Overview
- Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu instructed the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department to launch phase four of the BPL identification survey on February 1, 2026.
- The five-phase drive has already added 59,829 families to the list across Himachal Pradesh in phases one to three.
- Eligibility clarified for inclusion covers orphans up to 27 years, households with members above 59, and families with persons with disabilities aged 27 to 59.
- Women-headed households with no adult male aged 27–59 and homes where the head has at least 50% disability are to be listed, with families completing 100 MGNREGA workdays in the last financial year also eligible.
- Households with earning members suffering chronic diseases or permanent disabilities will be counted, and families in concrete houses that received state or central housing aid will be included.
