  • The NWS Phoenix office posted a Wind Advisory for Joshua Tree National Park, the Chuckwalla Mountains, Chiriaco Summit, the Palo Verde Valley and the Chuckwalla Valley, calling for 15 to 25 mph winds with 40 to 50 mph gusts.
  • Drivers should expect difficult crosswinds, and desert travelers could see brief drops in visibility from blowing dust, while small boats on area lakes face rough, hazardous waves.
  • Earlier overnight, the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard High Wind Warning for Santa Barbara County mountains and coast featured 30 to 40 mph winds with 60 mph gusts and expired in the morning.
