Helldivers 2 Overhaul Adds Multi‑Week Campaigns and Full Ship Customization

Arrowhead says the changes are meant to fix shallow endgame rewards and rebuild player trust by guaranteeing campaign payouts and improving progression and stability.

Overview

  • Game director Mikael Ariksson announced on Thursday that Galactic War Campaigns will replace weekly Major Orders and run for one to three weeks with at least one guaranteed campaign reward when conditions are met.
  • Arrowhead confirmed the first campaign reward will be a new FRV, and said campaigns will allow richer storytelling and experiment with gameplay effects and special items.
  • Planet Warfronts, a roguelite-style layer of dynamic planetary battles that Arrowhead prototyped before launch, is now in active development and will add defensive, frontline, and behind‑enemy‑lines missions with concrete objectives and consequences.
  • Personal Orders will be reworked into Personal Campaign Progression to give individual players a reward track tied to each campaign, while a dedicated ship team will overhaul ship modules, add full Super Destroyer customization, and build an alternate ship with its own progression.
  • Arrowhead also published short- and long-term technical and quality‑of‑life fixes — including more emote slots, reduced stimming dead input, assisted reload changes, fixes for stratagem bouncing, Hellpod steering improvements, and a planned level cap increase to 300 — and said it will expand testing to restore player confidence after earlier monetization backlash and mixed Steam sentiment.
