Overview
- Jurala on the Krishna has become surplus and project engineers opened crest gates to discharge roughly 40,000–47,000 cusecs while hydel generation added about 38,000 cusecs to the river course.
- Sripada Yellampalli has been receiving about 150,326 cusecs and pumping from Yellampalli to Mid-Manair began, with officials forecasting flows that can sustain pumping through about August 6.
- Srisailam storage rose above 46 TMC ft as inflows climbed across several projects, with large recorded flows at Kaddam, Medigadda, Sammakka, Sitamma Sagar and increased inflow into SRSP and Nizamsagar.
- Nagarjunsagar has seen no inflows and is not expected to receive any in the coming days, leaving Hyderabad’s drinking-water supply vulnerable despite higher flows elsewhere.
