Heavy Fighting and Mass Drone Strikes as Ukraine Targets Russian Fuel Hubs

Ukrainian commanders say long-range drone strikes plus Special Operations hits on fuel and logistics sites are designed to degrade Russia’s ability to resupply front-line forces.

Overview

  • The Ukrainian General Staff reported roughly 240 combat engagements in the 24 hours to 08:00 on Monday with intense Russian aviation strikes and the mass use of kamikaze drones against eastern and southern axes.
  • Ukrainian forces said they struck fuel and logistics targets in occupied Crimea and inside Russia, including a maritime terminal near Feodosia and a reported fire at the Grushova depot in Novorossiysk.
  • Fighting was most active on the Pokrovskyi (Donetsk) and Huliaipilskyi (Zaporizhzhia) directions where Ukrainian units reported repelling dozens of assaults.
  • Regional authorities across Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa reported civilians killed, wounded and widespread damage to homes and infrastructure from missile and drone strikes.
  • Ukraine’s commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said forces have liberated more than 600 square kilometres since January and took nearly 100 square kilometres net in May while urging more modern air-defence systems and munitions to reduce civilian harm.
