Overview
- The decorative scrims were removed to reveal the majority of the refreshed facade, with multiple outlets reporting the front reveal during the last days of July and visible work continuing on the far side of the building.
- Imagineering restored the mansion’s opening-day palette, including a green, oxidized cupola, darker reddish-brown bricks and much lighter gray stone trim to recreate the 1971 high-contrast look.
- Disney confirmed the project was a standard exterior facade refresh that left interior show scenes and the stretching room unchanged, and the attraction remained open through much of the work.
- Crews performed more than repainting: masonry repointing, roof and chimney repairs, and ironwork cleaning were done after Florida weather extended the schedule, and a small section of scaffolding, perimeter tarps, primered trim and landscaping work remain.
- The reveal was timed ahead of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and sits alongside active site work for the nearby Piston Peak National Park expansion, which will affect nearby queues, sightlines and replanting in Liberty Square.
