Haryana Says 52.18 Lakh Tonnes of Paddy Procured, Warns of FIRs Over Illegal Inflows

The chief minister couples ongoing purchases with a tougher stance to block out-of-state grain.

Overview

  • Officials report procurement since October 22 from about 2.66 lakh farmers with roughly ₹10,204.98 crore transferred to their accounts.
  • CM Nayab Singh Saini directed that FIRs be registered if paddy from other states is allowed into Haryana mandis illegally.
  • Gate passes must be scanned only within designated mandi areas, with staff to be identified and acted against for misuse.
  • Following irregularities on the e-procurement portal and H-register auctions at Kanina and Kosli, certain officials have been suspended.
  • Authorities ordered strict border checkpoints and physical verification of allocated rice mills in Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, and Kaithal, while bajra purchases total about 291 metric tonnes by state agencies and 3.99 lakh metric tonnes by private traders.
