Haryana IPS Officer’s Death Triggers Probe Into Alleged Harassment as Wife Seeks FIR

A recovered ‘final note’ naming senior officials has become central to the probe following the officer’s wife’s demand that it be treated as a dying declaration.

Overview

  • Chandigarh Police recovered the weapon, electronic evidence, a will and a multi-page ‘final note’ said to detail caste-based discrimination, targeted harassment and administrative victimisation, naming serving and retired IAS/IPS officers.
  • Rohtak Police arrested head constable Sushil Kumar in a bribery case; officials say he sought Rs 2.5 lakh in the officer’s name and referenced the IG during disclosures now under examination.
  • After returning from Japan, IAS officer Amneet P. Kumar filed a complaint naming DGP Shatrujeet Kapur and Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarniya under abetment and SC/ST provisions and delivered a letter to the chief minister seeking FIRs, arrests and protection.
