Haryana Flags Major Rail Milestones as Kurukshetra Elevated Track Prepares for Inspections

Early HORC freight revenue, key clearances, plus large land payouts signal momentum, officials say.

  • At the 33rd HRIDC Board meeting, officials said all civil, track, signalling, telecom and OHE works on the Kurukshetra Elevated Track are complete, with the platform in an advanced stage.
  • The completed KET works will be offered first to Northern Railways for technical inspection, followed by review by the Commissioner of Railway Safety.
  • On the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, the Manesar–Patli section and Maruti rail yard commissioned in June have handled 372 rakes from the Manesar plant, generating revenue.
  • For the Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor from Sonipat to Palwal, a steering committee chaired by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary approved the alignment for study, and the feasibility assessment is in an advanced stage.
  • HRIDC reported in-principle forest clearance for HORC Stage I, submission of the Aravalli clearance application, and land-compensation disbursements of Rs 1,533 crore against Rs 1,878 crore in awards, with Rs 99 crore paid against arbitration awards, as the Chief Secretary urged the corporation to pursue a national footprint.
