Overview
- The new district will comprise 110 villages across Hansi and Narnaund constituencies, with two sub-divisions (Hansi, Narnaund), three tehsils (Hansi, Narnaund, Bass), a sub-tehsil (Kheri Jalab) and three blocks (Hansi-1, Hansi-2, Narnaund).
- The jurisdiction spans about 134,976 hectares with an estimated population of roughly 540,994, while Hisar retains the Hisar and Barwala subdivisions after the carve-out.
- The decision stems from a December 9 State Reorganisation Committee recommendation chaired by Krishan Lal Panwar and subsequently approved by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
- Officials say the notification will follow within a week to operationalise revenue administration and ease access to services for residents who currently travel to Hisar.
- The announcement was paired with local development measures, including projects worth Rs 77.30 crore, an upgrade of Hansi’s hospital to 100 beds, and a Rs 5 crore special grant.
