Overview
- On Saturday two men were recovered after an inflatable dinghy drifted out from Seaton Carew and a second man who swam from the beach was also brought aboard the inshore lifeboat Solihull.
- The Solihull crew for the dinghy call‑out was named as Glen Pearson, James White, Jamie Northey and Mark Barker who handed the casualties to the Hartlepool Coastguard on the beach.
- Also on Saturday volunteers assisted a personal watercraft with mechanical failure and responded to a 31ft yacht that ran aground at the entrance to Hartlepool Marina with two people rescued from that vessel.
- On Sunday Hartlepool RNLI launched again to locate two people on an inflatable paddleboard who were found cold but unhurt and returned to the Ferry Road lifeboat station for warming and collection.
- All casualties were recovered without serious injury, lifeboats were refuelled and made ready for service, and the RNLI warned beachgoers to tether inflatables or call 999 and ask for the Coastguard when help is needed.
