Overview
- Two men were allegedly attacked on Church Street in Hartlepool at about 3am on Monday May 25 and the 50-year-old victim, Steven Streeting, died in hospital the next day.
- Aaron John Hopper, 32, has been charged with murder and with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to the second man and was remanded into custody at Teesside Crown Court.
- The judge set further court hearings for the defendant to progress the case and the legal process will determine guilt or innocence at trial.
- Streeting’s family described him as a devoted husband and loving father and asked for privacy while specially trained officers from Cleveland Police support them.
