Harrods Returns to Profit as One-Off Redress Charge Subsides

Management plans renewed investment in the Knightsbridge flagship to support growth through improved customer service and brand partnerships.

Overview

  • Harrods reported a pre-tax profit of £84.9 million for the year to Feb. 1, 2026, reversing a prior-year loss that was driven by a £62.5 million compensation charge.
  • Turnover for the 52 weeks rose 1.2% to about £1.09 billion while operating profit before exceptional items slipped to £172.3 million from £177.7 million the year before.
  • The Harrods Redress Scheme, launched in March 2025, has engaged more than 260 people and paid compensation to over 100 survivors as the company continues to process claims.
  • Two cyber incidents in May and September 2025 were disclosed and described by the company as contained quickly with no material impact on operations or profits.
  • Facing softer luxury spending and rival stress at chains such as Harvey Nichols, Harrods is prioritising capital works at Knightsbridge including escalator upgrades and redevelopments of jewellery, watches and womenswear to sustain tourist and high‑net‑worth spending.
