Hamster Brings Namco’s 1995 Cyber Cycles To Consoles

The arcade-only motorcycle racer is landing on home systems with modern emulation options, local split-screen multiplayer, and a paid upgrade path.

Overview

  • Hamster announced the game will launch on Thursday, August 20, 2026, with Arcade Archives 2 versions for PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2 and Arcade Archives versions for PS4 and Switch.
  • Pricing is set at $16.99 for the Arcade Archives 2 build, $14.99 for the Arcade Archives build, and a $2.99 paid upgrade will let owners move from the older build to the newer one.
  • The Arcade Archives 2 release adds Time Attack mode and variable refresh rate (VRR) support while both releases include Original, Hi Score and Caravan modes plus emulation conveniences such as save states and rewind.
  • Local multiplayer recreates the arcade linked-cabinet experience with 2–4 player split-screen but the port does not include online or networked multiplayer.
  • Cyber Cycles is a compact 1995 Namco System 22 racer with three starter bikes, two tracks and unlockable machines, and this release is the ninth System 22/Super System 22 title Hamster has reissued as part of its preservation effort.
