Overview
- Halo Infinite received a surprise update Wednesday that adds Firefight: Gauntlet, a four-player co-op mode built around survival and boss fights.
- Firefight, Halo’s co-op player-versus-environment mode, now features five linked arenas with boss kills to advance, upgradeable damage, recovery, resistance, and speed, plus an AI Aggro meter that shows which player enemies target.
- The Gauntlet playlist is live as a featured rotation and is scheduled to leave matchmaking on May 19, after which the mode and maps will join the staple Firefight playlist.
- The patch also introduces two new Forge-made maps compatible with Gauntlet and is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC with a download of about 10GB or less.
- The release arrives six months after developers called November’s Operation: Infinite the last major content update, suggesting smaller, targeted drops as work continues on other Halo projects.
