Overview
- Halo Studios officially announced a ground-up remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign with rebuilt 4K visuals, updated cinematics, remastered audio and new recordings from the original principal cast.
- The release adds three prequel missions starring Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson that introduce new environments, enemies and narrative moments before the original story.
- Gameplay updates include optional sprint, aim-down-sights, nine additional series weapons, vehicle hijacking with a fully drivable Wraith, an added fourth seat on the Warthog, a campaign remix mode and the most Skulls ever in a Halo campaign.
- The package excludes competitive multiplayer but supports two-player split-screen on console and up to four-player online co-op with full cross-play and cross-progression.
- Launching in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, the game will be available day one with Game Pass and will support Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Play Anywhere.
