Overview
- Halifax confirmed on Wednesday that it will move customers in stages to the Lloyds app and online banking and that customers should wait for an official invitation before taking any action.
- The bank says the transfer is a brand consolidation that will preserve customers’ sort codes, account numbers, direct debits and standing orders so day-to-day banking stays the same.
- Customers will get an in-app invitation with an email around the same time that guides them through a short setup on Lloyds’ platform without needing new passwords or memorable details.
- Halifax warned its own app and online banking will be closed as accounts are switched to the single Lloyds platform and confirmed there is no separate step to move to a Bank of Scotland app.
- The change is part of a group-wide digital consolidation by Lloyds Banking Group and customers may see improvements or short-term performance issues as the bank rolls out features such as Club Lloyds and Lloyds Rewards to Halifax accounts.
