Overview
- For the week of June 20–26 the Treasury set IEPS quotas at 6.04 pesos per liter for Magna, 5.66 pesos for Premium, and 5.83 pesos for diesel, reflecting lower government subsidies.
- The government now covers about 9.89 percent of the IEPS on Magna and 20.89 percent on diesel while Premium receives no subsidy for a third consecutive week.
- Those supports represent a clear pullback from the prior week when Hacienda paid 1.02 pesos per liter for Magna (15.22% subsidy) and 2.88 pesos for diesel (39.10% subsidy).
- Officials keep voluntary price caps with fuel distributors (Magna around 24 pesos per liter and diesel up to 27 pesos) and Profeco is carrying out nationwide verifications at service stations.
- Hacienda says the cuts respond to lower international crude but the full drop has not reached consumers because IEPS, the exchange rate, refining and transport costs and imports still add to retail prices.
