Overview

- Biswakarma was shot below the knee while police say he tried to flee custody and was admitted to Gauhati Medical College Hospital; authorities say the shooting occurred during an escape attempt and the incident is under investigation.
- Separate, related cases have expanded the probe: Nagpur police seized 2,300 fake bundles marked ‘Children’s Bank of India’ with a printed face value of Rs 8.65 crore and Nalkheda police recovered small‑scale printing equipment, and forensic tests and tracing of phone and transaction records are underway to establish links.
