Gurugram Pushes Work From Home, Staggers Government Hours Under GRAP Stage IV

Authorities aim to cut peak traffic to reduce emissions after AQI stayed in the very poor range.

Overview

  • Private and corporate offices were advised to enable work from home from December 22 until further orders.
  • Public offices adopted revised hours: state departments 9:30 am–5:30 pm; Gurugram and Manesar municipal offices 8:30 am–4:30 pm; Sohna, Pataudi Mandi and Farrukhnagar bodies 8:30 am–4:30 pm.
  • The guidance follows CAQM’s December 13 invocation of Stage IV, which allows offices to operate at 50% on‑site staffing with the remainder working remotely.
  • Officials said the steps are intended to stagger commutes, ease congestion, and reinforce construction and industrial curbs under Stage IV.
  • CPCB readings placed Gurugram’s AQI around 325–328 in recent checks, and the orders will remain until further direction with more actions possible if conditions persist.
