- Ellis Cox was shot in the back and killed at the Liver Industrial Estate in Aintree on 23 June 2024 when people on electric bikes approached him and his friends.
- Police have forensically linked the self-loading pistol used to kill Cox to two separate earlier shootings in Liverpool but the firearm has not been recovered and has not been used since the murder.
- Merseyside Police have arrested nine people during the inquiry and released them on bail while investigators say they believe three or four people were directly involved and feel they are close to identifying those responsible.
