Overview
- Memphis’ medical update, released Tuesday, ruled Ja Morant out for the rest of 2025-26 after a platelet-rich plasma injection and an offloading plan for his sprained left-elbow UCL.
- Morant has been sidelined since Jan. 21 with the elbow sprain suffered against the Hawks, and PRP is a non-surgical shot using a patient’s own platelets to support ligament healing.
- The update also sidelined Brandon Clarke for the season with a right calf strain, and it noted Zach Edey had a procedure for left-elbow discomfort, with both expected back for 2026-27.
- Morant appeared in 20 games this season and averaged 19.5 points, 8.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 41.0 percent from the field.
- With multiple rotation players now shut down and after trading Jaren Jackson Jr. before the deadline, Memphis shifts focus to next year as trade rumors around Morant earlier this season did not result in a move.
