State-backed investments now link rural water infrastructure to direct schooling support in historically underserved Sonora towns.

  • At Pesqueira in San Miguel de Horcasitas, a solar-powered irrigation system was delivered to the Hermanos Villalva irrigation unit with a 2.19 million peso investment, benefiting eight hectares of forage, fruit and vegetable crops.
  • Through PROAGUA 2025, officials rehabilitated a well and elevated tank and installed solar panels in Pesqueira with 3.09 million pesos, securing potable water for 4,721 residents.
  • An additional rehabilitation of a well and related hydraulic infrastructure is underway with 1.39 million pesos, funded jointly across the three levels of government.
  • In Opodepe and Rayón, 229 Becas Sonora grants for primary students were distributed—132 in Opodepe (290,400 pesos) and 97 in Rayón (213,400 pesos)—for a combined 503,800 pesos.
  • The administration reports more than 600,000 scholarships delivered to date, with a 2022–2026 scholarship budget totaling 3,666,539,077 pesos and 41,334 primary-school supports in the 2025–2026 cycle at 2,200 pesos per student.
