Overview
- The executive announced on Friday that it will carry out 281 interventions in the Valle de los Ríos Apurímac, Ene y Mantaro (VRAEM) with a 2026 budget exceeding S/331 million.
- S/141 million of the package is earmarked exclusively for productive projects such as agrarian initiatives, tourism and value chains for cacao, coffee, apiculture, aquaculture and panification.
- Officials made immediate moves during the June 12 session in Unión Asháninka by formalising a Sanipes–Municipalidad cooperation agreement, delivering 40 Devida‑validated competency certificates to local producers and holding a public interinstitutional service fair.
- Cabinet head Luis Arroyo and sector ministers said improving road and transport links is a top priority because better connectivity will cut post-harvest losses and let producers reach markets and public services.
- The plan links counternarcotics policy and economic formalization through multisector coordination led by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, but its success will depend on security, implementation capacity and sustained agency cooperation in remote districts.
