- The Ministry of Capital Humano through the Secretaría de Trabajo formalized the July–September 2026 collective agreement on Wednesday, fixing new basic salaries for driving staff and confirming the pact in an official communiqué.
- Basic pay for drivers will be $1,645,721.36 from July 1, $1,676,990.06 from August 1, and $1,707,175.88 from September 1 with proportional rises for other contract categories.
- The agreement includes a non‑remunerative extraordinary bonus of $170,000 to be paid proportionally by category and time worked and higher per‑day viáticos of $20,000 in July, $21,000 in August and $22,000 in September.
- With the homologation the UTA’s planned strike action is temporarily deactivated and the parties pledged to preserve labor peace while reconvening in September to reassess price trends and operators’ costs.
- The deal follows months of tense talks and earlier service frequency cuts and arrives alongside recent small fare increases in the AMBA that raised the minimum federal bus fare to about $742.81, leaving a September review as the next potential trigger for renewed negotiations.
