Overview
- The measure was formalized in Decree 473/2026 published on June 17 and takes legal effect on July 1, 2026 so eligible personnel will begin to receive the supplement with that month’s pay.
- The supplement pays 10% for technicaturas, 15% for university degrees of four years or more, and 25% for postgraduate titles, and it applies to active personnel as well as retirees and certain pensioners who earned their title before retirement.
- Payments are limited to titles considered “afín a las tareas desarrolladas en la Fuerza respectiva,” and foreign postgraduate degrees must be authorized by the relevant Force and carry an apostille to be recognized.
- The Ministry of Defense will fund the cost from its current budget, but practical rollout depends on forthcoming reglamentación, force-level validation criteria and transmission of the DNU to the Bicameral Commission for congressional review.
