Google’s $135 Million Android Data Settlement Opens Payout Portal

Eligible Android users can now pick how to receive money from the case.

Overview

  • The official settlement site and payment form are live for the class action over Android sending data in the background without user consent.
  • Eligibility covers U.S. users who used an Android phone with cellular data from Nov. 12, 2017 through January 2026 and who are not in California’s separate Csupo case.
  • Notices with a personalized ID and confirmation code are going out by email and mail, and users should choose a payment method to avoid failed delivery.
  • Payments will be sent only after a June 23 final approval hearing, and individual amounts will vary with a cap of $100.
  • Google denies wrongdoing but agreed to clearer Google Play disclosures and to stop collection when the Android background data setting is turned off.
