- Google has opened the QPR2 beta track and published Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1 system images and emulator builds for enrolled Pixel testers so developers and testers can validate the next quarterly update.
- System images cover a wide range of Pixels from the 6a through the Pixel 10 series plus Pixel Tablet and Fold models, and Google explicitly excluded the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro because those models have reached end of life.

- Google published a minor SDK so developers can finish app validation before the stable release and directed testers to report bugs through Android Beta Feedback, the Google Issue Tracker, or the Android Beta subreddit.
- Testers should not install QPR2 Beta 1 on their primary device without caution because leaving the beta after installing a build triggers a downgrade over‑the‑air that will wipe all user data, and the release is intended for testing ahead of a planned Q4 (December) stable update.
