Overview
- Google began rolling out version 5.06 of the Google Health app on Friday, and the update introduces a Coach setting that changes how the AI appears on the Today tab.
- The new Coach menu offers two clear options: “Standard,” which shows proactive, conversational insights by default, and “No Coach insights,” which removes that text from the Today tab.
- Choosing “No Coach insights” strips coaching commentary from the home view but keeps on-demand access to the Coach and any active fitness plans on the Fitness tab.
- The 5.06 release also fixes display problems in in-app maps and corrects how heart-rate zones and pace are rendered on route maps.
- The change answers widespread user complaints that the Coach crowded the Today tab and reflects a broader product move to give users control over AI-driven features.
