Google Closes $32 Billion Wiz Deal, Its Largest Acquisition to Date

The purchase positions Google Cloud to offer a unified, AI-driven security platform that remains available across rival clouds.

Overview

  • Google said on March 11 it completed the all-cash acquisition of the cloud and AI security company, bringing Wiz into Google Cloud.
  • Regulators cleared the transaction in the U.S. in November 2025 and in the EU in February 2026 following antitrust reviews.
  • Wiz will keep its brand and continue supporting AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud and Google Cloud to preserve multicloud availability.
  • Google and Wiz plan to combine Wiz’s platform with Google’s AI and threat intelligence to detect, prevent and respond to attacks across environments.
  • Media reports say Wiz surpassed about $1 billion in ARR in 2025 and that investors and employees will see major payouts, including roughly $1.5 billion in retention incentives.
