Google Brings Meet’s AI Notetaker to In‑Person Meetings

The rollout starts as an Android alpha for select Workspace tiers under admin control.

Overview

  • Google said at Cloud Next 2026 on Wednesday that Meet’s Take Notes for Me now captures in‑person meetings and saves transcripts, summaries, and action items to Google Docs.
  • The tool can also listen to Zoom and Microsoft Teams audio when started from the Meet app or web.
  • Access begins on Android in an alpha for Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus plans, and many organizations will need an admin to enable it.
  • The feature supports English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, though it can handle only one language in a meeting.
  • Google also introduced Drive Projects, a new Sheets Canvas, Workspace Studio Skills, a preview Workspace MCP Server, Chrome Enterprise auto‑browse, and options to lock data to the US or EU with agent governance controls.
