Gold Rebounds as Global Gain Lifts Pakistan and India Prices

A sliding rupee alongside geopolitical tension fuels the latest jump.

Overview

  • Global bullion rose by about $41 to roughly $4,701 per ounce on Tuesday, clawing back part of the prior day’s drop.
  • Pakistan’s market body APGJSA said 24-karat gold increased by Rs4,100 to Rs492,462 per tola, with 10 grams up about Rs3,515 to Rs422,206.
  • Silver in Pakistan also advanced, with per tola up around Rs395 to about Rs8,906 and 10 grams higher as well.
  • In India, the All India Sarafa Association reported gold up Rs1,500 to Rs1,56,800 per 10 grams as the rupee weakened to a provisional record low of 95.63 against the dollar.
  • Analysts cited strained WashingtonTehran relations and upcoming US inflation data as drivers of volatility, while a firm dollar and higher US Treasury yields may limit further gains.
