Glenmark Settles for $29.6 Million Over Alleged Generic Drug Price Conspiracy

The settlement requires Glenmark to cooperate with ongoing multistate antitrust actions, implement compliance reforms, and make money available for consumer claims covering purchases from May 2009 through December 2019.

Overview

  • A coalition of 48 states and territories reached the $29.6 million deal with Glenmark to resolve claims that the company conspired with competitors to inflate prices and limit competition in the generic drug market.
  • Under the agreement Glenmark will cooperate with ongoing multistate litigation against dozens of other manufacturers and executives and adopt internal antitrust compliance measures.
  • Consumers who bought certain generic drugs made by Glenmark, Lannett, Bausch, Apotex, or Heritage between May 1, 2009 and December 31, 2019 can seek payment through a centralized claims process by calling 1-866-290-0182, emailing info@AGGenericDrugs.com, or visiting AGGenericDrugs.com.
  • The settlement was announced July 15–16, 2026 and follows earlier agreements with Lannett, Bausch, Apotex and Heritage that together total about $66.95 million, while trials against other defendants are still pending.
  • State prosecutors say their case rests on cooperating witnesses, a document database of over 20 million items and millions of call-detail records that show industry coordination at dinners, golf outings and in messages using phrases like 'fair share' to police pricing.
