GIGN Captures Fugitive Mickaël Ettori in Corsica After Five Years on the Run

The capture followed two 2025 convictions under a Marseille judge’s commission rogatoire.

Overview

  • Ettori was arrested at Olmeto-Plage by the GIGN, with several dozen gendarmes deployed under an order from the Marseille JIRS.
  • The arrest occurred without resistance and he was placed in police custody, with a transfer to Marseille expected for questioning.
  • Investigators describe him as a close lieutenant of alleged Petit Bar leader Jacques Santoni.
  • He was sentenced in absentia on December 11 to 15 years for participation in preparatory acts linked to the 2012 assassination of lawyer Antoine Sollacaro and the attempted killing of Charles Cervoni.
  • He also received a 12-year sentence on May 28 in the Petit Bar finances case, and local reporting says he was found with multiple phones and about €5,000 in cash.
