Germany Reports Hundreds of Outstanding Warrants for Far-Right Extremists and Reichsbürger

Greens urge swift warrant enforcement following federal figures on persistent far-right crime.

Overview

  • The Interior Ministry told parliament that as of September 30, 2025, 688 arrest warrants were outstanding against 515 far-right extremists.
  • On the same reference date, authorities sought 185 Reichsbürger and Selbstverwalter on 242 open warrants.
  • Police registered 36,951 right-wing extremist offences nationwide in 2025, including 1,395 violent crimes.
  • The totals declined from 2024, when 42,788 offences and 1,488 violent crimes were recorded, yet officials stress the threat remains high.
  • Greens whip Irene Mihalic cited six attempted killings and urged the interior minister to execute the open warrants and disarm extremists, warning that groups with innocuous names such as “Bismarcks Erben” hide anti-state, antisemitic actors and arguing for stronger civil-society support.
