Overview
- The Europe-wide ROADPOL Speedweek will run across Germany from Monday 3 August to Sunday 9 August with intensified controls spread over the full week.
- Most states will join the action but Bavaria, Saxony and Saarland will not take part in the national week or will run separate programmes.
- Authorities say measurement sites are generally not published in advance and may be set at autobahns, federal roads, schools, hospitals, construction zones and known accident hotspots.
- Drivers face the normal Bußgeldkatalog penalties if they are caught, blitzer-warning apps are unlawful and common measurement tolerance is about 5 km/h though it can be stricter near protected facilities.
- Regional results will be released later, with Baden-Württemberg expecting its August-week tally around 12 August and police using prior violation totals to justify the concentrated checks.
