German Indoor Championships Close With Martin’s 400m Repeat, Mihambo’s Ninth Long Jump Title, Stepanov’s Worlds Standard

Performances set the pecking order for Germany’s team for the World Indoor Championships in Torun in three weeks.

  • Owen Ansah captured the men’s 60m in 6.55 seconds, edging Kevin Kranz by 0.01, while Philina Schwartz won the women’s 60m in 7.18 with her World Indoors start already secured.
  • Johanna Martin took a third straight 400m crown in 52.09, passing Skadi Schier (52.26) late after a 51.92 heat that was her first time under 52 seconds.
  • Malaika Mihambo extended her indoor dominance with a season-best 6.57m to claim a ninth consecutive long jump title.
  • Alexander Stepanov won the 800m in a personal best 1:45.89 to meet the Torun qualifying mark, and Jean Paul Bredau controlled the men’s 400m in 46.21.
  • Peter Osazee won the triple jump with a 15.80m personal best, Simon Batz took the long jump at 8.09m, Bo Kanda Lita Baehre secured the pole vault at 5.60m, Imke Onnen won the high jump at 1.91m after Christina Honsel withdrew, and 1500m titles went to Marius Probst and Maitje Kolberg.
