German Bike Trade Splits as Industry Associations Quit Eurobike

Two leading associations have set up a rival Cologne show, a move that could divide buyers and suppliers and reshape Europe’s trade-fair calendar.

  • The Vereinigung Zukunft Fahrrad (VZF) and the Zweirad-Industrieverband (ZIV) announced on Thursday that they will leave Eurobike and stage the 'Towards Tomorrow – European Bike Show' in Cologne from 6–8 September 2027.
  • Eurobike has lost roughly half its exhibitors, falling from about 1,500 in 2025 to roughly 800 in 2026, and several major suppliers such as Shimano and Bosch showed reduced or no presence at the Frankfurt event.
  • Eurobike’s organiser Fairnamic responded by announcing a smaller, restructured 2027 edition shortened to three days (1–3 September 2027) and with a centralized layout to cope with the decline.
