Georgia Lands Legacy OT Ty Johnson for 2027 Recruiting Class

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound three-star becomes Georgia's seventh 2027 pledge, strengthening a class ranked No. 4 nationally.

Ty Johnson publicly announced his commitment to Georgia on Saturday, as first reported by Hayes Fawcett.
He chose the Bulldogs over interest from South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina.
Johnson plays right tackle at Lucy Beckham High School in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and is listed at 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds.
He is the son of former Georgia center Travis Johnson, who played in the 1990s with Kirby Smart and Mike Bobo and was a college roommate of Smart.
Georgia offered shortly after a Junior Day visit, and Johnson said he had made a silent pledge earlier and cited a strong connection to the program, while looking to Monroe Freeling as a development model.
