Overview
- On-site and outlet reports this week show the “Portraits of Courage” paintings have been taken down from The American Adventure at EPCOT and the temporary display is closed.
- The exhibit featured more than 60 oil portraits painted by former president George W. Bush that honored post-9/11 service members and paired each image with a short personal story.
- Disney opened the show in June 2024 and extended it several times, including through the Fourth of July weekend before confirming the scheduled end of the run.
- While the paintings are gone, banners tied to the exhibit were still on site and the American Heritage Gallery had been blocked off earlier when the portraits occupied that space.
- Disney and the George W. Bush Institute framed the display as a tribute to veterans, and the pavilion is expected to return to its normal rotating exhibits and Imagineering artwork now that the temporary installation has concluded.
