Overview
- Universal Pictures Content Group announced Thursday that it has acquired international rights while Bleecker Street’s Crosswalk took North American rights to the concert film “George Michael: The Faith Tour.”
- The film is built from newly rediscovered 14-camera, 35mm footage shot over two nights at Paris’s Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy during George Michael’s 1988 Faith Tour and has been restored for theatrical presentation.
- Longtime collaborators Andy Morahan and David Austin directed the concert film, which producers Globe Originals, Mercury Studios and George Michael Entertainment assembled for a late-2026 release in premium formats.
- The theatrical program will open with a Mary McCartney short titled “Finding Faith,” which features unheard Michael voiceover and unseen Herb Ritts images, and the U.S. run will include exclusive early-access IMAX screenings arranged by Bleecker Street.
- George Michael Entertainment and Sony Music will issue an 18-track live album of previously unreleased recordings alongside the film, a coordinated launch intended to revive catalog sales and introduce Michael’s work to new audiences.
